Program Productions Makes Five-Year Commitment to Support the Sports Broadcasting Fund

Program Productions, one of the leading labor management firms in the broadcasting and live event industries, announced that it will make the Sports Broadcasting Fund the focus of its charitable efforts for the next five years.

“We are pleased and excited to announce this major initiative today,” said Program Productions President and CEO Robert Carzoli. “When [my father] he started this business almost 30 years ago, one of his main goals was to make sure that the people who worked for him were taken care of, regardless of their life circumstances. The Sports Broadcasting Fund and the assistance it provides the broadcast technicians and their families today is a natural outgrowth of his original mission.”

The Sports Broadcasting Fund, established in early 2012, is designed to offer financial assistance to those in the sports broadcast production community who find themselves and their family in need due to illness, death or disaster. The goal is simple: to help ease financial burdens that can add emotional stress to already stressful and difficult situations.

“Our focus in this effort is a two-fold attack,” notes Carzoli. “First, we will be providing direct financial support to the fund through an employer-matching program with our 4,000+ employees around the country. In the next week, a letter will be sent asking each of them to make a small donation of one dollar or more per paycheck. Then, our organization will match those contributions at 50 cents on the dollar.”

Program Productions encourages employees who may qualify for assistance from this fund to apply through its newly-established educational campaign called “That’s What Friends Are For.” Employees will receive regular communications about how to apply for assistance, how the fund has helped those in need and information about the importance of giving, even in the smallest amounts.

“We’ve enjoyed a lot of good fortune in this business,” comments Carzoli. “It’s time for us to give back and support those who’ve been an integral part of that success. I know it’s what my dad would do.”
